SNI (Special Educational Needs) has always been a hot topic, and it remains so. At BPS, we discuss it extensively, and during our most recent organization-wide event, we set a goal to clarify our approach to this area. Beyond understanding neurodiversity, our aim is to create a school community that offers support and acceptance for everyone, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment.

However, we want to achieve this together with you, because the future—and the future school—will become what we shape it into today. Through a series of intensive workshops, we aim to collaboratively develop the BPS SNI Ars Poetica. This means articulating how we approach a diverse group of children and how we support them. Here’s the best part: we also invite parents to join this process, as they help us build the school together.

Inclusion: The School of the Future

Budapest School

At Budapest School, we work to ensure that every child receives the attention they need, whether they are average, gifted, have special educational needs (SEN), are neurodiverse, or atypical. At the same time, we struggle with the misconception that this makes us a "special education" school. However, an inclusive and integrative approach is not a second-rate option—it is the school of the future.

A Collaborative Workshop on the Horizon

Initial discussions have already started, and we’re preparing for the workshop series scheduled between January and March. In this safe and supportive space, we want to share our experiences, thoughts, ideas, and fears with each other. Essentially, we’re continuing to build the future of BPS.

According to our plans, the workshop series will conclude in early spring, after which we intend to finalize our proposal and present it in April. This process isn’t just about creating a document—it’s about shaping our school together into a place where every child receives the best possible support.
