Szabó Adrienn

I graduated from the Faculty of Primary and Pre-School Education at ELTE in 2012, and then I obtained a master's degree as an expert in Intercultural Pedagogy and Psychology. In addition to my university studies, I worked for 6 years at the Budapest Zoo, where I gave mainly zoopedagogical and educational lectures to children and adults. Thanks to my master's degree, I gained an insight into the civil sphere: I started doing an internship at the Menedék Association, where I mainly helped to conduct sensitizing trainings and children's sessions.

The journey from here led straight to an international school where I was able to gain my first real classroom experience in a multicultural environment. During my years here, in addition to my practical experience, I attended several trainings in different countries around the world, mainly in the field of integration and multicultural education, but I have also done Gordon training, for example.

After 5 years, I decided that I wanted to practice my profession in an environment that I feel truly self-aware both spiritually and professionally. Budapest School was never unknown to me – I followed the work of the organization from the beginning, I participated in several meetups and lectures, all of which confirmed that BPS's progressive approach to education is very much the same as my own ideas. As a result, in 2019, I joined the fantastic and diverse team at B38.

I believe that children need to explore the world around them in a playful, experiential way. I also consider emotional education, great conversations, playful activities, and learning about different cultures to be very important.

In addition to BPS, I teach Hungarian as a foreign language to foreigners living in Hungary, I dance, read, travel, but I try to spend as much time as possible with my dog, preferably in a beautiful and peaceful place.

Kántor Kati

I graduated from Apor Vilmos Catholic College as a kindergarten teacher, and I obtained my qualification as a child yoga instructor in 2018. I used to work with children in a kindergarten in the 13th district and in family day-care.

I believe in the power of singing, acting, and fairy tales: I wrote my thesis on how theatre pedagogy can help in conflict management. I regularly apply the Mese Másként (meaning: “Fairy Tales Differently”) method with the children: a set of drama games which improve the children’s imagination, empathy, and problem-solving skills. Polishing talent is important to me because I believe that every child is born with a talent, and it requires a huge emphasis to discover and develop it.

I am also the mother of a 14-year-old girl.

Peák Boglárka

Az ELTE Tanító- és Óvóképző Karán ember és társadalom műveltségi területen végeztem tanítóként, majd az ELTE Pedagógiai és Pszichológiai Karán váltam interkulturális pszichológia és pedagógia szakos bölcsésszé. Ez a mesterképzés alapozta meg a tanítói identitásomat, és hatalmas lelkesedéssel kezdtem meg a pályafutásomat egy sajátos nevelési igényű tanulókkal foglalkozó iskolában. Az ott eltöltött három év alatt rengeteg élménnyel, ötlettel és módszerrel gazdagodtam. 

Fontos számomra az interkulturális pedagógiai légkör kialakulásának segítése, melynek köszönhetően a közösség tagjai értékként tekinthetnek saját magukra és társaikra. A tanulási helyzeteket élménypedagógiai módszerekkel szeretem átitatni, melyek által a gyerekek természetes, tevékenykedő formában fejleszthetik tanulási képességeiket és szociális kompetenciáikat. Gyerekkoromban nagy szabadságot és támogatást kaptam a szüleimtől és tanítóimtól az engem érdeklő témák felfedezésében és az azokban való elmélyüléshez. Ezt az intellektuális és érzelmi biztonságot szeretném megtapasztaltatni én is a gyerekekkel. 

Papp Bori

I graduated from the Bárczi Gusztáv Faculty of Special Needs Education at ELTE as a special education teacher, specialising in surdopedagogy and logopedics. Before joining Budapest School, I used to work with children who require integrative learning and individual special education. During university, I would often hold sensitising training courses with the Committee of Equal Opportunities at ELTE, which has contributed greatly to my professional development. It is my great passion to acquaint children with natural sciences, organise STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) activities, and introduce them to programming. Besides English, I also speak Japanese and French. In my free time, I play the bass in a band, and I experiment with both traditional and digital arts.

Papik Eszter

I graduated from the Faculty of Primary and Pre-School Education at ELTE as a teacher in the field of Natural Sciences, and I obtained a master's degree in Institutional Development. Before Budapest School, I worked in a school where I was a member of an extremely colorful community. There, I had the opportunity to teach children of different nationalities and those with special educational needs. In addition, as a university lecturer, I taught subject pedagogy courses for prospective teachers.

It is extremely important for me to educate for sustainability so that children become conscious adults who take responsibility for themselves and their environment, and I wish for them to spend their daily lives in an accepting, loving environment.

Major Zsuzsa

BA tanulmányaimat a Kolozsvári Babeș-Bolyai Tudományegyetemen végeztem 2015-ben, bölcsészkaron. Főszakom a magyar nyelv és irodalom, mellékszakom a finn nyelv és irodalom volt. A szakdolgozatom témáját a kortárs irodalom iránti rajongásom és a pedagógia iránt egyre növekvő érdeklődésem határozta meg: az akkoriban berobbanó slam poetry szakmódszertani alkalmazását tanulmányoztam, különös hangsúlyt fektetve a kritikai gondolkodás implicit fejlesztésére középiskolában, magyar nyelv és irodalom órán.

Ezt követően Angliában éltem másfél évet, ahol egy magánbölcsődében dolgozva a koragyermekkori nevelés, gondozás, illetve -pedagógia területén szereztem tapasztalatokat, jelentős elméleti és gyakorlati tudást elsajátítva. Ezután Finnországban kezdtem el egy nemzetközi, angol nyelvű mesterképzést a Jyäskylä-i Egyetem pedagógiatudományok karán, Jelenkori problémák a pszichológiában és pedagógiában szakirányon. A szociális, gazdasági és kulturális hátrányokat szerettem volna kutatni az oktatás tágabb kontextusában. Miután az ELTE PPK Társadalmi befogadás MA szakán áthallgattam egy fél évet, a civil szféra felé vettem az irányt. Gyakornoki pozícióban kezdtem el dolgozni az Igazgyöngy Alapítványnál, melyből folyamatos, önkéntes tanodapedagógusi jelenlét, kisebb-nagyobb pedagógiai, főleg értő olvasással kapcsolatos projektek, egy baba-mama klub vezetői szerepkör, majd családmentori teljes állás született. Összesen 2 évig dolgoztam terepen, olyan munkát végezve, melynek célkitűzései között a koragyermekkori fejlesztés, a szülői kompetenciák fejlesztése, az iskolai hátránykompenzálás, a felzárkóztatás és a közösségfejlesztés szerepeltek.

Úgy döntöttem, hogy gyakorolni szeretném a hivatásom, végzettségemnek megfelelően tanítani (és tanulni) szeretnék! A BPS-ben egy olyan északi mintájú, alapjaiban progresszív és interdiszciplináris beállítódású, kritikus és holisztikus oktatási szemléletet valló intézményben dolgozhatok, amilyennel a finnországi kalandjaim során találkoztam. Hitvallásomat, miszerint az iskola feladata társadalmilag érzékeny, toleráns és egymást támogató, kritikusan gondolkodó és problémamegoldó felnőtteket nevelni, a tanári tevékenységembe igyekszem beépíteni.

Szabadidőmben tornázni szoktam a nappaliban Sanyi macskánk kíváncsi tekintete által kísérve, próbálok finomakat és egészségeseket főzni, olvasok, társasozom, ha tehetem koncertekre és kiállításokra járok, néha kirándulok.

Krisztina Szende

I have always longed to be able to work in a place where teaching goes beyond the transfer of material knowledge, where we work with my fellow teachers and the parents to develop the children’s personality. I first experienced this holistic approach during my stay in England, and when I returned home, I worked in the lower grades of the Budapest American International School. Since I consider it important to experience as much as possible, I also made a detour to Hungarian public education.

When planning the sessions, I draw from the experiences I have had during my years in a variety of school environments – spiced up with my love of sports and exercise, as I am also a child yoga instructor. In terms of my education, I am a primary and secondary school English teacher, and I obtained my master's degree in English at ELTE. I finally feel that here at BPS, I have come to a community where it is important to provide children with up-to-date, usable knowledge in their education, taking into account their age, personality traits, and individual sensitivities.

Már nyugdíjasként szegődtem heti 2 napra a BPS-be.

Korábban 14 és fél évet foglalkoztam nagyothalló gyerekekkel. Akkor még  azt 

hittem onnan megyek nyugdíjba.

De az élet úgy hozta, hogy a hallássérültek után, majd 20 évet töltöttem a főleg napilapokat kiadó svájci RINGIER kiadónál, ahol kezdetben fotó, később központi archívumot csináltam.

Aztán újabb fordulat következett és ismét gyerekek (mozgássérültek) között találtam 

magam. (3 és fél év)

Mi az, ami annyira megfogott a BPS-ben, hogy ma már teljes állásban dolgozom itt?

Az az élményalapú oktatási szemlélet, amely azt célozza meg, hogy a gyerekek játékosan, tapasztalati úton fedezzék fel a világot és szerezzék meg ismereteiket.

Az, hogy a BPS-ben egyéni figyelmet kapnak, céljaiknak és képességüknek megfelelően

fejlődhetnek.

Nagyon fontos számomra a zene és a természet szeretete, illetve ezek megismertetése és közös felfedezése a gyerekekkel.

Szeretek fotózni. Végzettségem szerint fotós is vagyok, a szakmát az egykori MAFILM-ben 

“lestem” meg.

Pedagógiát  a Pedagógiai Intézetben tanultam,

Sajtóinformatikát a MÚOSZ-ban.

Hobby szinten (tanulva) régóta foglalkozom kertépítéssel és lakberendezéssel.

Kelen Panni

I have been a teacher at Budapest School since the summer of 2017; I am responsible for the B38 group’s professional programmes. I believe that here I have found the pedagogical, communicational, and primarily human viewpoint system which I think is currently best for educating happy and self-conscious children. Self-education has been important to me since before Budapest School: my qualifications include public education leader, developmental teacher, and mentor; I also worked for 6 years in a kindergarten which used differentiated instruction. I believe that a community works best if students, parents, and teachers all feel it as their own. This sounds simple, yet when put into practice, it is the greatest challenge of all. I have been playing competitive volleyball for 20 years, and I play the piano and the flute. The love for sports, music, and exercising regularly are all integral parts of my life. It is a mentality I wish to pass on to the children.

Cili and Zaki – my twins born in 2016 – are eager to see me come home every day.

Zsigmond Petra

I graduated from the Bárczi Gusztáv Faculty of Special Needs Education at ELTE as a special education teacher, specialising in surdopedagogy and somatopedagogy. Before Budapest School, I used to work in a special kindergarten where I helped children of reduced mobility as per my area of expertise.

I believe it is essential for children from an early age to have the opportunity to come to know the world and explore it freely. I often lead mobility training activities in the kindergarten to help improve the children’s motor, sensory, and cognitive skills. Furthermore, since cooking is my passion, I love making various delicacies together with the group. In my free time, I like doing crafts, painting, drawing, and I am passionate about learning digital art techniques.
